The METRICS Lab has been lucky to collaborate with many incredible students both in the past and present. Our lab has been greatly influenced by these amazing people who have continued on to do amazing things, and will forever be part of the METRICS Lab family! This page highlights some of the amazing achievements of our alumni and current students!

Past Students

Teslin Ishee

Teslin is a current member of our lab, working with us during the Summer Research Program on understanding how team and diversity training are effective, especially in our newly virtual workplaces. Presently she is contributing to Dr. Feitosa’s consulting project working with an international organization to improve their DEI initiatives. This Summer, Teslin will be completing an internship with Mercer, an organizational consulting firm which provides advice to clients on how to improve their workplace. Congratulations Teslin!

Nishka Khoobchandani

During Summer of 2021, Nishka will be completing an internship with Tucows, a publicly traded Internet services company, as a Learning & Development intern where she will be creating and designing e-learning elements and training courses for Tucows employees.

Saskia Shirley

This summer, Saskia is working as a Seasonal Analyst at Egon Zehnder, a global management consulting and executive search firm. Under the guidance of a team of experts and consultants, she will be creating comprehensive leadership solutions for individuals, teams and organizations. Egon Zehnder is located in 68 offices across 40 countries, bringing a global perspective to executive search, CEO succession, board advisory and diversity, equity and inclusion programs. In her time at the firm, Saskia will be involved in projects across each of these fields, furthering her interest in the field of Human Capital consulting.

Katherine Almendarez

Katherine is an alumna of the lab, having worked with us during the Summer Research Program working on understanding how team and diversity training are effective, especially in our newly virtual workplaces. This Summer, Katherine will be attending the prestigious Public Policy and International Affairs junior summer institute at CMU working on public policy in preparation for a JD-MPP post-grad career plan. Congratulations Katherine!

Megan Benzing

Megan is a Positive Organizational Psychology Ph.D. student at Claremont Graduate University. She earned her M.A. in Psychology with a dual concentration in Positive Organizational Psychology and Evaluation from Claremont Graduate University. Her research interests include how employee’s perception of their calling and purpose at work influence their citizenship behaviors, as well as the impact of COVID-19 on the culture, norms, and expectations associated with remote work. She has experience in managing and evaluating organizational development programs (e.g., mentoring, virtual coaching, leadership development) and enjoys analyzing people metrics to further support employee and team thriving.

Leyna Hong

Leyna is an alumna of the lab, who worked with us to develop and test a Behaviorally Anchored Coding system during the Summer Research Program. In Spring 2021, Leyna is working as a Search Ads Intern for Apple, working with app developers in the promotion and discovery of their apps in the App Store. Leyna works specifically with the Health and Fitness, Education, Lifestyle, and Travel team where she analyzes industry trends and identifies growth opportunities for clients. Congratulations Leyna!

Adrienne Kafka

Adrienne is a former member of our lab, who has worked for us since Spring of 2020 and through the Summer Research Program. She has worked on numerous projects, including development of an integrative team diversity training, and has published an article with the lab as first author! After her graduation in Spring of 2021 she has been offered A full-time position as a Career Consulting Analyst at Mercer in their Workforce and Careers practice, which helps organizations plan and carry out workforce design and human capital strategies in order to optimize business performance through people-centered strategies. Congratulations Adrienne!

Reggie Romain

Reggie is an alumnus of the lab, graduating with a M.A. in Industrial-Organizational Psychology from the City University of New York, Brooklyn College. As a member of the lab, he studied how team dynamics were disrupted by membership changes. Upon completing his degree, he went on to work for research think tanks conducting Human Capital research with a focus on employee engagement, diversity & inclusion, workforce planning, and teams. Currently Reggie is a Talent Researcher at Accenture, supporting the Talent & Organization practice with thought leadership, as well as the firm's diversity, equity, and inclusion efforts. His latest area of focus is people experience — which aims to understand how the experiences of employees can contribute to them tapping into their full potential and organizational success. Congratulations Reggie!

Lorena Solis

Lorena is an alumna of the METRICS lab. She graduated from the City University of New York, Brooklyn College with an M.A. in Industrial-Organizational Psychology. In the third year of her Ph.D., she is currently at the University of Calgary, continuing her research on diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI). Specifically, she centers the importance of social justice and advocacy at the forefront of DEI research. As an academic researcher, she aims to critically consider how she studies and reproduces knowledge concerning groups that have been historically excluded from positions of leadership and power. Her ultimate goal is to use her privilege as a scholar to create platforms and spaces for all individuals to achieve total inclusion and transformational justice. Congratulations Lorena!
